Bahamas Dental Council

The Regulatory Body for the Profession of Dentistry in The Bahamas

The Council consists of 7 members. The members consist of the Chief Medical Officer ex-officio and 6 Dentists (inclusive of one dental auxiliary) appointed by the Minister of Health, under the advice of the Bahamas Dental Association. Members work together to:

1. regulate the dental profession.

2. regulate the performance of services by dental auxiliaries.

3. establish appropriate training programmes for dental auxiliaries & services.

Monies collected from fees go toward defraying the Council’s administrative and operational costs.
